Services on Offer

The Queen’s Park Children’s Centre offers a wide range of activities and resources that support children and adults alike. We take care and make sure it is our priority, to get to know each individual child and adult. We plan and deliver activities that are inspirational for all.

Home Start

We support ANY family living in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea who needs us, providing there is at least 1 child under 5, or a baby on the way. Rich or poor, settled or transient; there are times when we all need support and friendship but do not know where to turn. Our trained volunteers help to give encouragement and support to change the pattern of troubled lives.

Family Lives

Family Lives is a charity with over three decades of experience helping parents to deal with the changes that are a constant part of family life. We know that many people play active roles in raising children, from dads and mums, grandparents, step-parents and non-resident parents. Our role is to support all of you to achieve the best relationship possible with the children that you care about, as well as supporting parenting professionals. We believe that happy children come from happy families and currently support families to improve the outcomes for over 1 million children each year

English Express

To provide English language classes that swiftly and effectively enable command of spoken English to those in London in greatest need, with least means. We have classes from 8:00 am until 10:20 pm., so you will easily find a class at your level, which is also at the right time for you. For over 13 years, we have been teaching English using the very fast Callan Method. People around the world have been learning English using this method for over 50 years. You will learn to speak English very quickly using the Callan Method, which is why we are called English Express

DreamArts

DreamArts uses the arts to enable young people in London aged 7-25 to empower and inspire them to form stronger connections with each other, their families and build a greater sense of community.  Our projects uncover and nurture their talents, whether in performance, multi media, or all-important life skills such as leadership and communication, with many going on to a career in the arts thanks to our links with London’s creative industries.

Doorstep Library

We're a children’s literacy charity going directly into the homes of families and encouraging children (from 0-11 years old) to read through a fun, child-led story session, leaving books to borrow for the week and a promise to return the following one for more. Crucially, we are in a unique position to demonstrate to the parents not only the impact that this enjoyment of reading can have on a child’s academic development, but also how fun and easy it can be to do this together.

For Baby's Sake

For Baby’s Sake is an innovative therapeutic programme aimed at protecting babies from the impact of domestic abuse and breaking harmful patterns in relationships. We support families in bringing an end to domestic abuse, overcome the impact of trauma, abuse or other significant adversities in their own childhood and support their baby’s early development from pregnancy to age 2.

Solace

Solace Women’s Aid exists to end the harm done through Violence Against Women and Girls. Our aim is to work to prevent violence and abuse as well as providing services to meet the needs of survivors particularly women and girls. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse

MyTime Active

Healthy lifestyle course for children and families. We offer a range of fun, practical healthy lifestyle courses for residents. Our MEND programmes which stand for Mind, Exercise, Nutrition……Do IT!, consist of lively, interactive sessions for parents/carers and children that offer sustainable and practical advice, guidance and tips on eating well and moving more.

Maternity Champions

Maternity Champions have arrived in Queen’s Park! This new project is training up a skilled team of local people to provide support for expectant and new parents through pregnancy, childbirth and the transition into parenthood. Being pregnant and having a baby is an amazing experience that at times can be overwhelming and isolating. Working closely with midwives, health visitors and Children’s Centre staff the team will be on hand to guide and support new parents, increase the uptake of support services, give advice on keeping healthy and active, feedback views and reduce isolation and vulnerability by encouraging new parents to support each other.

The project has got off to a great start with a growing team led by local resident and mother Emma Sweeney. We are currently recruiting so if you’re local, are passionate and have skills to bring please get in touch on 020 8964 8024 or email emma@pdt.org.uk
